Just a line to congratulate you heartily on the finishing of your book. I have been[2], and shall be again, suffering enough from the weight of the labours of composing anything like a 'treatise' on money to be able to form an idea of how you must feel relieved. I do not think that any scientific book has been looked for with so universal an impatienceㅡin our time at leastㅡas yours is.

[2] Schumpeter had just completed the major part of his ^Das Wessen des Geldes^. This was not published until 1970.
