Sales Associate is nothing more than a fancy 'title' for CASHIER or SALES CLERK. I have owned several businesses, current one for 30 years...and it seems no one wants to work for anything unless they have a "Title" for the position.
- A janitor wants to be called a 'custodial maintenence worker'...
- cashiers want to be called Sales Associates....
- An 'assistant' would be a 'second in charge', or just the cashier that doesn't have a key to lock the place up at nite...
nothing more than a fake title for the same job that's been around for 150 years!
(...전략) 직급이긴 한데 우리말로는 적절한 것이 없고 또 회사마다 그 의미가 조금씩 틀릴 수도 있어서요,,, 은행이라면 아마도 담당자쯤의 의미가 있으리라 싶네요.
- 예를 들어 Loan Associate하면 융자업무 담당쯤 됩니다.
- 대학교에서 Associate Professor하면 부교수가 되고 법률법인에서는 주변호사/대표변호사(partner)가 되기 전에는 모두 associate lawyer라고 하고
- 또 매장에서 sales associate하면 판매 담당사원쯤 됩니다.
(...전략) 예를 들어 자동차를 판매하는 회사에서도 Sales, Sales Associate, Account Executive등을 쓰고 조금 싸이즈가 큰 회사에서 고객관리를 담당하는 사람을 Account Manager라는 직함도 씁니다.
- 많은 경우 Account Executive는 평사원이고[,] Account Manager는 우리 나라 과장급이나 부장급입니다
