( ... ... ) In 1922 he expanded his journalistic activities in two projects for the Manchester ^Guardian^. The first was coverage as special correspondent of the Genoa Conference, meeting from 10 April to 19 Many 1922. Lloyd George was using the conference to resolve the reparation issue within a general economic settlement and failing with both. (That was the great man's last throw as coalition prime minister; in October the Conservatives would revolt and take power alone undr Bonar Law, Lloyed George joining Keynes in the wilderness.) Certainly the best paid journalist at the conference, Keynes could, at least use his reporting as another argument for right reason on all the economic questions so stirred up. Beginning at the time of the conference and extending to January 1923, he also mounted a great positive effort, which consisted of the twelve Reconstruction Supplements of the Manchester Guardian Commercial. Covering 810 huge pages, the supplements surveyed and tried themselves to assist the solution of the European economic problems.
